DIFFERENCES IN BOARDS
1) FUEL-POWERED vs. ELECTRIC SURFBOARDS
At JETSURF USA we have both fuel-powered and electric surfboards. What's the main difference? Well, it's pretty obvious. The fuel-powered boards feature our 100cc two-stroke fuel-injection engine (psst, it's all manufactured in Europe under one roof). They run on a 93 octane gas mixed with two-stroke full synthetic oil.
On the other hand, JETSURF Electric surfboard is equipped with one of the most reliable and powerful electrical engine in the electric surfboards industry.
Now you may wonder which one is better, right? Let's review the main pros and cons of both type of boards:
FUEL-POWERED
PROS
- They are super easy to carry around. Fuel-powered boards only weight about 44 lbs.
- Fuel-powered boards give you up to 1 hour of pure fun and when it's not enough for you, you simply refill the fuel tank and hit the water again.
- You can travel with the board on a plane - check it as the over-sized luggage and enjoy the flight.
- They're agile on the water - thanks to their low weight, the fuel-powered boards allow you to jump high, turn really sharp, and hit the race track.
CONS
- They're louder compared to the electric surfboard. The built-in silencer significantly reduces the noise of the engine (to some 59dB) but no doubts you'll recognize the sound of the two-stroke.
- There are two-stroke engine limitations on certain lakes in California.
- The fuel-powered boards require slightly more maintenance compared the electric surfboards.
ELECTRIC SURFBOARDS
PROS
- Zero local emissions.
- Quiet engine - Ride without disturbing your neighbors or other people at your lake or in the river.
- Perfect board for learning - you can lie on the board without being scared of flooding the engine.
- Ride where other machines can't. With the electric engine you're allowed to ride almost on any pristine mountain lake you want.
- No fuel involved. Therefore it's a perfect choice for all yacht owners. Keep everything perfectly clean.
CONS
- Weight - the lithium battery makes it a bit heavier than the fuel-powered boards. Our JETSURF Electric surfboard weighs 72 lbs. This also makes the board slightly less agile compared to the fuel-powered version.
- Riding time - the fully charged battery gives you around 22-55 minutes of riding time.
- Transport in the plane - due to the lithium battery, you are not allowed to check the board as an oversized luggage and fly to some exotic island.
2) ADVENTURE DFI vs. ADVENTURE DFI PLUS
The main difference between these two boards is the Alternator. Even the fuel-powered boards have a small battery unit that powers the starter, bilge pump, etc... so you need to charge the board after approximately 4-5 hours of cruising time (in other words: once or twice a week if you ride it often). The Adventure PLUS has the alternator, so the charging process is significantly reduced.
The other difference is the bindings set up. The Adventure DFI has a dual binding set up so you can share the board with both Goofy and Regular riders. The Adventure DFI PLUS has a single binding set up so it makes it more difficult to share the board with others.
On the other hand, the Adventure PLUS comes with a travel bag and handful of more accessories.The standard Adventure DFI is a better fit for families. The Adventure DFI PLUS is a better fit for long-distance trips and island hopping.
3) ADVENTURE DFI vs. RACE DFI
The shape of the hull is differenton these two boards. The Adventure DFI is more stable on the water so the learning process is easier, whereas, the Race DFI is less stable and more agile.
The Adventure DFI comes with a double bindings set-up so you can share the board with Regular and Goofy riders while, the Race DFI comes with a single binding set up so it is a better fit for individuals.
Generally, the Adventure DFI is a perfect family board for beginners.
The Race DFI is a great choice if you are ready for more agile ride with sharp turns and jumps.
4) WHAT IS JETSURF TITANIUM DFI
JETSURF Titanium DFI is the fastest motorized surfboard on the planet. This board reaches the top speed of 40 MPH and is considered to be the most agile board of our line-up.
The Titanium DFI is made mainly for racing purposes and can be seen beeing used in the UIM MotoSurf World Championship. Because of it's MotoSurf Championship backgroud, we don't recommend this board for beginner riders. On the other hand, once you get more skilled and you try JETSURF Titanium DFI, you won't want to get off.

To find your perfect JETSURF match, ask yourself the following questions!
1) WHAT ARE YOUR RIDING SKILLS?
If you're a beginner and you want to start riding the JETSURF board, we would recommend you to purchase an Adventure DFI, Adventure DFI PLUS and/or the JETSURF Electric surfboard.
These boards tend to be more stable board which makes them easier to learn.
If you feel like you're a fast learner or you have any experiences with surfing, wakesurfing, dirtbikes, etc. we would recommend you getting one of more adrenaline boards like JETSURF Race DFI or Titanium DFI. Simply because you will have much more fun.
2) WHAT WILL BE YOUR RIDING STYLE?
Every JETSURF board is customized to fit different riding style. Some of them are made for cruising around, long-distance trips, or even for racing.
What riding style do you prefer?
- Cruising/fun ride - JETSURF Adventure DFI or JETSURF Electric
- These boards are the most stable ones from our line up and they're easy to learn. They will be perfect for your everyday fun rides.
- Long-distance trips - JETSURF Adventure DFI PLUS
- The Adventure DFI PLUS features the alternator and comes with various extra accessories such as the JETSURF Rack, additional fuel tank and the duffel back. These add-ons will make your life easier while doing long-distance JETSURF trips.
- Agile JETSURF ride - JETSURF Race DFI
- Performance-oriented board for everyday riders. The Race DFI is a perfect board for those who want to do sharper turns, jumps but also convenient sunset rides.
- Racing - JETSURF Titanium DFI
- Are you an adrenaline junkie and want to join our racing series? The Titanium DFI is the fastest motorized surfboard on the planet. It allows you to reach the top speeds over 40 MPH.
3) DO YOU WANT TO RIDE WITH YOUR FAMILY?
Ride with your family without swapping the bindings from Goofy foot to Regular foot. JETSURF Adventure DFI and JETSURF Electric surfboard come with the dual bindings setup. Anyone can ride it!
